My students and I are now in the process of discussing what their rhetorical timeline projects will look like. Today I asked each student to name one person they are considering for inclusion in their projects. Here is the list, with doubles excluded:
- Aristotle
- Aspasia
- Immanuel Kant
- Quintillian
- Marcus Aurelius
- Christine de Pizan
- Sappho
- Cicero
- Plato
- Martin Luther King
- Marshall McLuhan
- Publius Aelius Aristides
- Gorgias
- Libanius
Interestingly, the most common double was Sappho and a couple of students seem to be pretty worried about whether what they choose to include should or should not match with what I’ve chosen to teach. How smart! I can’t wait to see how this project turns out.
